What do you get when you have a doctor, mountain climber, artist, comedian and baker – all within the same family? You get Katie and Steve’s wedding. A wedding with beautiful, unique and delicious details, tons of family love, and the most hilarious speeches ever! Katie and Steve got married at Buffalo Mountain Lodge, in the heart of the Canadian Rockies. The sun warmed the cool autumn air for their outdoor ceremony, where they exchanged nuptials under the massif of Mount Rundle. We headed out with the newly weds for some portraits and just as we were about to head back to the reception, the sun popped out and presented a glorious sunset. Lanny and I shot our hearts out, taking full advantage of this magical light, which lasted all of about 3 minutes. However, the magic of the reception was just as fun to photograph. Tears, laughter, and mildly disturbing details from Katie’s hilariously inappropriate father about where and how she was conceived. The biggest challenge was trying to shoot while laughing so hard. Katie and Steve, yours is a wedding we will never forget. It’s been so great getting to know the two of you and we can’t wait to hear all about your Everest expedition!
