Cherie and Jon’s wedding was a photographer’s dream. And a photographer’s nightmare.
It was dripping with the fantastical ingredients of which photography dreams are made. Tropical waters lapping up against white sand beaches. Palm trees blowing in the salty breeze. Mystical sunsets. Gut-busting laughs. Heart-wrenching tears. Adorable dogs in designer suits. Storm troopers wielding luminous light sabres. A visual dreamland to feast our camera’s upon.
It was also cloaked in the perilous ingredients of which photography nightmares are made. High pressure stakes. Formidable church ceremony. Not one, not two, but three enthusiastic cinematographers (plus a professional content creator). Erratic dogs in designer suits. Storm troopers wielding luminous light sabres. The ultimate battleground to put every ounce of our photography skills to the test.
These dualistic qualities were quite befitting for a May the Fourth wedding. The forces were strong. And light prevailed.
Those three enthusiastic cinematographers turned out to be absolute legends. A pain in our asses to be fair, but legends nonetheless. They’re Fire & Ice and here is the film they made (while we were being pains in their asses).
That professional content creator turned out to be this super cool human.
That dog in the designer suit turned out to be Aloha Chewy (the love of Cherie and Jon’s life).
Those storm troopers wielding luminous light sabres turned out to be the most bad ass group of friends that anyone could ask for.
And Cherie & Jon turned out to be the most gracious hosts we could ever imagine. From the second our plane touched down, they made damn sure we enjoyed every single minute of our time on their island.
Behold Cherie and Jonathan’s wedding. A dream come true. A nightmare averted. An experience we’ll never forget.
