After back-to-back destination weddings in the tropics, we raced back home to photograph Tina and Dean’s winter wedding at the Fairmont Banff Springs Castle in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. Transitioning from +25°C to -25°C was made easy by the fact that we were photographing two of the most fun and appreciative people we’ve ever met. Tina and Dean’s love for each other, the people around them, and life itself, is beautiful and infectious.
Their wedding was a fairytale of legendary proportions. Exquisitely designed and orchestrated by Stephanie Schmitt of Lynn Fletcher Weddings, the event was nothing short of a visual masterpiece. From award-winning lighting by Stardust Events, to optometry-inspired centre pieces, to sparkling jewel-encrusted table tops; every last detail was out-of-this-world extraordinary. We rarely include any of our detail shots within our wedding blog posts, but in this case we couldn’t help but include a few.
The whole experience began with pond hockey, hot chocolate, and of course… Dean’s morning workout with North American Kick Boxing Champion, Justin “Houdini” Tavernini. Meanwhile, Tina and her girls were experiencing the magic of Trena Laine‘s makeup artistry. Then came their beautifully touching ceremony, which reminded us why Robin White is one of our all time favourite wedding commissioners. And then the Justin Timberlake inspired dance party, fuelled by the dope beats of Alan Smithson, had everyone flippin’ out on the dance floor right through the night. A big thanks to our friend, Sean Leblanc for shooting with us and running the Photo Booth.
Thank you, Tina and Dean, for welcoming us into your beautiful celebration and trusting us with your memories.
