Meagan & Gavin’s Winter Wedding Photos from Emerald Lake Lodge

By the time Meagan and Gavin’s wedding day rolled around, we felt more like guests, hanging out with all of our long lost British friends, than photographers. From our very first meeting with Meagan and Gavin, we’ve clicked, and after our sub-zero engagement session (at -23 degrees celciius), we were like old friends. It takes a certain type of couple to commit to getting married outside, in the winter, in the Canadian Rockies, and Meagan and Gavin are just that… laid back, fun loving and full of kindness. Meagan and Gavin wanted to treat their posse of international guests to a truly Canadian experience. Their wedding celebration actually began the previous day, with dog sledding, a big roaring campfire and, of course, s’mores. By the time Lanny and I hit the dance floor the following evening, we had fully immersed ourselves within the shenanigans. The best way to get truly authentic party shots, is to be right in there with our cameras, partying with the guests, which is exactly what we did. Dj Scoots kept the dance floor roaring well into the next morning, with an unbelievably eclectic mix of tunes. Such a fun night! As a result of photographing this wedding, we have made some truly great friends. Hope to party down with you again soon Meagan and Gavin!

Also, a huge thanks to Jody Goodwin for keeping us fueled and lending a helping hand. You’re such a pleasure to have along!
