Alycia & Janna’s Wedding
They say it takes a village to raise a child. For us, it takes a village — plus Alycia & Janna.
We’ve known Alycia & Janna for about as long as we’ve been wedding photographers. They came into our lives when we had two very small, small children, and found ourselves up at 2:00 am building our websites and editing photos, after the kids went to bed. We were exhausted, strung out, and barely getting by.
Alycia was our first major investment, other than our cameras. She watched our kids for us, while we built our business from the ground up. She didn’t just watch our kids though. She became their best friends.
At first, it was just a few times a week, and on Saturdays when we would shoot local weddings for $1,000. Then it was in Hawaii, where we shot our first destination wedding, and brought the kids. Then it was to Bali, where we hosted a photography workshop.
At some point during this time, she met Janna. It took 5 years before they told us they were a couple. But guess what, Alycia & Janna? We kinda knew all along. You can’t hide something that radiates like a disco ball on fire.
As their relationship grew, so did our photography business. And so did our two little Manns. Our success as photographers, and as parents, owes a lot to Alycia & Janna. They’re the most amazing role models for our kids (and us). They’ve brought so much richness, wealth, joy and wisdom. We are better people, parents, and entrepreneurs for knowing them. And our kids are better humans, for having them in their lives.
When we attended their wedding (as guests and photographers) we realized that we’re not the only ones who feel this way about Alycia & Janna. Everyone does! They impact lives in beautiful ways. That’s who they are. That’s what they do.
